Residence 9
Residence 9 has been designed to authentically replicate 19th Century timber designs, featuring a defining elegant flush exterior and stylishly decorative interior.
Ideally suited to replacement of windows and doors in period properties, including those in many conservation areas. R9 windows and doors combine classic period design with cutting-edge energy efficient technologies and weather sealing.
This uses a honeycomb of nine energy efficient chambers within a 100mm deep profile, creating the ultimate barrier between your home and the worst the Great British weather has to offer outside. Combined with energy efficient double-glazed or triple-glazed insulating window units, it delivers an industry-leading U-value (the measure of heat loss in buildings) of 0.8W/m2K.

The advantages of choosing an HWL R9 window
We aren’t the only manufacturer of R9 windows and doors but we’d like to think that we’re the best. That’s not simply because of the care and attention we can bring to manufacture, but because we’re almost unique in that we can supply R9 un-glazed. Which is something which delivers a distinct benefit to you, as a homeowner.
Simple and easy replacement of glass
Because the joints of our R9 windows are so strong, double-glazed units don’t have to be glass-bonded or ‘glued’ into frames.
The problem with gluing in glass is that if it smashes, it can be difficult to replace. This can mean your only option is to replace the complete sash.
It can also be difficult to match-into the exact colour of the original window, because even low maintenance windows change colour slightly through exposure to the sun over time, which can leave a replacement sash standing out a little bit like a sore thumb.
That’s not a problem with an HWL window. Damaged glass units can be replaced quickly and easily, without having to replace the sash.
Residence 7
Residence 7 draws on the same cutting-edge design innovations as R9 in a slightly slimmer 75mm system. In common with R9, its defined by an elegantly flush sash exterior and interior, with symmetrical glass sightlines. A choice of five glazing bead options ranging from square to decorative finishes introducing even greater versatility including suitability for use on period to new build designs.

Residence 2
Think R9 but with a slightly more contemporary edge. With nine energy efficient internal chambers, R2 pushes the boundaries of thermal performance even further with U-values as low as 0.7W/m2K. Where R2 differs to R9 is in its use of a contemporary internal square detailing.
